The four-poster room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and spectacular sea views. The shower was amazing too. We enjoyed breakfast, and also had dinner there: the dish with the sausages of the day was really good. Highly recommended.

The food was lovely, and we’d enjoyed an otherwise lovely week on Arran. But our last night, Thursday 20.11.2025, at the Corrie Hotel ended badly after drinks, pool and dinner, when we took part in the quiz. Our team had the highest score, yet the quiz master ignored us and ruled us out. We raised the problem, but it was brushed aside. With a sizeable prize at stake, that soured the whole evening. We won’t return, and our local friends won’t either.

We all enjoyed our meals, including the great chips with the fish and chips, the salmon and the steak pies. To start, we shared Haggis pakoras. One friend had never tried haggis and thought it was delicious. Booking a table is a good idea, so you don’t risk arriving and finding you can’t get in.

We’d enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere during our family evening, but the Pub Quiz left us very disappointed. My family’s team, which included local participants, had clearly won, yet regulars were given the prize instead. Management overruled us when we challenged the result. We won’t be back because of how they handled it.

I live on Arran and took my family there for Sunday lunch while they were on holiday. We all agreed the roast was the best I’ve ever had. I’d highly recommend it and will return for a treat whenever I can.
