We were staying next door and someone suggested we try the bar. Glad we did. The cosy loch view bar was beautifully set up, with the fire going, and John gave us a whiskey tasting. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Thanks for the hospitality, and I’d definitely try to stay here if it’s available next time.

When we came back from coffee nearby, the family who runs Sconsor Lodge greeted us warmly. It has a charming atmosphere, and they ask early on if you’ll be joining them for dinner, though there’s always room for everyone. We found the stay pleasant, but not exceptional, especially given the slightly high price compared with some nearby places that looked nicer. We ended up shortening our visit. We’d arrived to find the lodge temporarily closed, which caught us off guard. There isn’t much around, though that isolation is part of its charm.

The food was a highlight for us, especially the amazing Sticky Toffee Pudding. We loved staying at Sconser Lodge. Our room was spacious and had a lovely Loch view, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious each day. We'd happily return and absolutely recommend it.
