Bellfield. Skeabost bridge

The road was the one real hassle for us. Parts of the A850 around here have deep potholes, like canyons, as do many roads on Skye, especially farther west towards Dunvegan. Watch out and drive well below the speed limit. A 4x4 might cope, but our little city car really didn't like it. We stayed in winter in a deluxe room overlooking the valley. The temperature was just right, the bed was one of the comfiest we've ever slept in, and the shower was a highlight. It was a cosy, comfortable, warm place to stay. Breakfast was great, with fresh pastries, cereals, yoghurts, milk, jams, and fruit each morning. The host varied things a little from day to day. Our room also had a kettle, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate sachets. The hosts were lovely and helpful, always available without being intrusive. They were responsive and gave us useful pointers to places of interest. It's dog friendly if you ask beforehand. The location worked really well as a base, with most parts of the island about an hour or so away. Highly recommended.

The B&B was immaculate, and the host put out a great continental breakfast. We loved the countryside views, and it's just ten minutes from Portree. It's also right by a Pictish stone and St Columba's isle, which are more off-the-beaten-path places to visit. We'd gladly stay again. Thank you, Emma :)

Emma was awesome. She left snacks, coffee, and tea in the room, and breakfast was great. A comfortable, clean, quiet, and beautiful place to stay on Isle of Skye.
