A welcoming bowl of fruit and plenty of cereal options were ready for us. The room was lovely, clean, comfortable, and homely, with thoughtful extras. There was a mini fridge stocked with milk, yogurts, water, and fruit juices.

We’ve used this lovely stopover twice on the way to the ferry. It’s warm, cosy and quiet, with breakfast things provided, and puts some big hotels to shame. My only request would be a chair in the room.

The drive to the house isn’t easy to spot, so get clear directions from the owner and don’t trust Satnav. Look for a red roof house across the field. It’s about a 20 minute drive from Portree, and the owner gave us a friendly welcome. The Gally, further down the road, has opened as a Cafe or take away, and we enjoyed a good meal there. Inside, the modern layout and smart decor were well planned, and the room was spotless and very comfortable, with a cosy double bed and good heating. There’s a private entrance and parking outside. Breakfast supplies included cereal choices, milk, water, juice, fruit, yogurt, bread, jams, and wheat free biscuits. The shower was excellent.

We had lovely mountain and rural views from this spacious room on the hill above Uig, close to the West Skye coast. There’s a good restaurant at Uig Hotel nearby. The host was friendly, and the room had good facilities, breakfast supplies, reliable wifi, and comprehensive satellite TV.
