Moorside Rooms

Our host was kind and quick to respond when we contacted her. She also left plenty of gluten-free food for my daughter with celiac disease, so she felt included and comfortable, and there was lots to choose from for the rest of us too. We had enough pillows, blankets, and towels for everyone. I stayed for two nights with my husband and two daughters during our Scotland trip. The place was very clean, the beds comfortable, and the upstairs room fit four adults easily without feeling cramped. My daughters especially loved Haggis, the outdoor cat who lives there. We'd highly recommend this nice place if you're staying on the Isle of Skye.

Sam, the proprietor, was excellent, communicating quickly and helping whenever needed. The location is just right for getting away from Portree's bustle while still making it easy to explore Isle of Skye. It's about three miles from Portree, though, so there aren't any places to eat within walking distance. Plan to drive into Portree or pay for a cab if you want a drink or don't want to deal with parking there. The lack of nearby dining isn't the location's fault. I'd happily come back and stay again.

The beds were comfortable, and our rooms were clean and quiet. Moorside Rooms is a convenient base for exploring different parts of Skye, with Portree just a short drive away. We had a great stay.

Sam made sure we had everything we needed, even though we never met her, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The room was spacious and close to sights like Old Man of Storr and Quiraing. Our toilet was across the hallway, but that wasn't a problem for us. It's easy to reach by car and a good place to stay away from the bustle of Portree. Thanks, Sam. We'd stay again.
