The owners’ son made breakfast and dinner every day, and both were five-star. For everything they provide, I think the price could be higher. The rooms were large, modern, and really nice too. I can’t imagine another hotel or inn in the area being as good.

The food was genuinely excellent, and we enjoyed talking with the family who run the place. They were very helpful, and the other guests were lovely too. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

The meals were a highlight: Scott cooked every one beautifully, with ingredients and presentation that felt like fine dining. Murdo was kind, welcoming, and ready to help whenever we needed anything. Our room was spacious, spotless, and nicely furnished, with lovely views to wake up to. Taransay House is peaceful, but still an easy walk from downtown Portree. We’d stay again without hesitation and recommend it to anyone visiting Skye.

The rooms were kept very clean and had amazing views of the loch. Scott cooked a different selection of recipes each day and was an amazing chef. He and his father made a great team, and both knew the area well, with useful tips for hikes and hidden places to explore. The food and hospitality were amazing too. Definitely recommend it.

Breakfast and dinner were included, beautifully prepared, and delicious. Murdo was kind and really helpful, with lots of good ideas for what to see and do on the Isle of Skye. The property itself is beautiful and clearly well cared for. We had an incredible stay and highly recommend it.
