Tor View Bed & Breakfast

The host was really friendly and took time to chat when we checked in. They also had some great suggestions for food and things to do. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had amazing views. One small hassle was getting to the house, though it wasn’t too bad. It’s about a 5 minute drive into town and 10 minutes to the Old Man of Storr hike, which I’d highly recommend. If you’re booking through booking.com, have a look at the Tor View website too, since each room is different and the booking.com info was a bit confusing and misleading. Still a 5 star stay!

The quiet setting and amazing views made Tor View our favorite place to stay during our travels around Scotland. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the bed and comforter were so cozy. You do need to drive into Portree proper. One practical tip: if you might arrive early and need to leave your bags somewhere, email ahead to check whether that’s possible. If I return to Scotland, this is the first place I’ll book.

The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented, and they even served it in the room. The owner was friendly and helpful, and the little touches, like a selection of teas guests could help themselves to, made the stay feel thoughtful. The view is amazing, and being a bit away from central Portree keeps things quiet. It’s the best B&B I’ve stayed in. WiFi worked well, too.

We really liked the quiet here, just a 4min drive from Portree and a welcome change from the tourist crowds and noisy pub visitors. Our host was friendly and calm, and gave us lots of useful tips for visiting Isle of Skye. The room was spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was left at our door so we could eat while looking out over Portree and the landscape. The views are special. If you want a clean, peaceful place and don’t mind driving 4min or walking 20min, I’d definitely recommend it.
