The pool table and a roaring fire made Friday night feel especially cosy, even with the rain outside. We came for Burger night, and the homemade burgers were really tasty. The pub is family run, dogs are welcome, and the service was great. With the new management, the food and atmosphere are both lovely. We’ll be back soon.

It’s a relaxed place to have a drink or sit down for a good meal, and it feels genuinely welcoming to families. The food has been consistently very good, while the landlords are exceptionally friendly. There’s a great atmosphere whenever we visit.

The homemade ice cream and sponge, another South African special, were superb. I also tried the homemade South African curry and loved every bite, it was amazing. We were greeted with smiles and made to feel welcome, and the two dogs made the place feel like home. I’d definitely stay here again. Kind regards, Ashley.

Breakfast was cooked just how I asked, and they even offered me an evening meal after the kitchen had closed. I was staying at The Talbot for one night after a home emergency, and the landlords made everything easy. They were so accommodating and gave me a very warm welcome. The food was fantastic, definitely worth another visit. Thank you for having me.

The owners were friendly and really went the extra mile for us. The food was solid and well priced, too. Great pub, and we’ll definitely be back.
