The photos on Skyes Cottages didn’t match the cottage we found, and I’ve told them they’re giving customers the wrong impression. We cut our holiday short and came home. I don’t live like that at home, so I wasn’t going to put up with it away. The cottage itself was a real letdown despite its lovely location. It was dirty, the bedding was badly creased, there was just one oven rack, burnt pans under the sink and no mixing bowls. Old throws covered the furniture, and the welcome pack was only a few sticks and firelighters. When I called the owner, they didn’t seem concerned. We had a bad storm and the guttering was hanging off. After we got home, I rang Skyes and they weren’t interested, telling me to take the owner to small claims court. What a joke, they’d taken our money and offered no customer service. I’m now trying to visit the cottage and see it for myself.
