For our sixth wedding anniversary, my wife and I booked two nights here. We’d stayed three times years ago and always had a good experience with lovely staff and food, but this visit was completely different. There was no food or staff, and breakfast was meant to be included, yet on arrival we were told it would cost an extra £10 per person. Our room was being renovated, so we were put in another one and asked to pay more. On Friday night, the roof in the entrance hall room collapsed, leaving us unable to come or go except through the back garden door, which wouldn’t lock. Someone knocked and asked if we wanted to stay another night or leave, saying they wouldn’t charge us for that night. We chose to leave. We’ll never return. It’s overpriced anyway, so save your money and book somewhere else.

The chef, who’s also a part owner, took time to chat with us and was a nice chap. We had a room and evening meal offer, which made it good value, and the food was to a high standard. The rooms were comfortable and tastefully decorated. There’s private parking and gardens where you can enjoy the sun and a drink, and they even have an honesty bar at night. It’s only a short walk into the centre. A fantastic place from start to finish.

The gardens are really pretty and the views are lovely. The staff were very good, especially considering how young they were, and the food was perfectly cooked. Thanks to the booking system, it came out fresh and hot where needed, with competent staff serving it. We’ve already booked a hot tub room for December and are looking forward to coming back. Hard to find anything to fault.

The gardens around the house were a lovely place to sit and take in the view, and it was only a short walk to Haworth’s main street. David welcomed us and served dinner, and he was so hospitable. The dining room was lavish and a lovely setting, and the food was excellent. I’d booked the stay for my new wife and me as a mini-honeymoon, the day after our wedding. Once I’d told the guest house, she got a lovely surprise when she walked into our room and saw the candlelit scene and flower petals on the bed. The Sweet Dreams Suite was just right for the occasion, with its four-poster bed and big bath where we shared a glass of champagne. Highly recommended.

We tried the main house this time after staying last year in the cottage retreat across the street. Our Honeypot room was lovely, with a huge comfy bed and a feature bathroom with a superb large spa bath and multi-jet shower. Everything was clean and nicely presented, and every staff member we met was friendly and keen to help. When the chef had to self-isolate and the hotel restaurant would be closed, they sent us a list of local restaurants, which we really appreciated. Breakfast the next morning was great and brought to our room, though eating in the dining room was an option. A perfect stay all round.
