OYO Fab Guest House

I won't book a Fab hotel again after this experience. The room was filthy, the beds were poor, there was a bad smell, the bathroom was in terrible shape, the towels were torn and there was no hot water. I'm glad I wasn't there with my family; it didn't feel hygienic for a family stay. The trouble started with the booking. Booking.com said payment wasn't due until check-in, but Fab hotel emailed right after I booked asking me to pay to confirm. I had to call them and then pay. The whole property was awful.

The room was stiflingly hot without air conditioning, and I ended up with swollen bites from bed bugs on the bed. The room itself was okay and I liked the shower. I had a fairly smooth check-in and check-out, and didn't run into the problems other reviewers mentioned, though I didn't see any staff during my stay. I'm not sure how this hotel still has four stars. Maybe they were awarded years ago and kept. The rooms look nothing like the photos, which felt misleading. I'd spend a bit more to stay somewhere better.

We had a lovely stay, and the property went out of its way to arrange the room with a bathtub that we requested. It was spacious and comfortable, with a big TV and a clean, quirky bathroom we both liked. The view was great, and the location was really central, about five minutes from shops, coffee shops and the water. Check-in was easy, and the room felt very fresh. Couldn't have asked for a better time, thank you!

The room was simple but very clean, had everything we needed for one night, and the bed was comfortable. We parked overnight at the Buzz Bingo car park, just a few minutes away on foot, for less than £20, so the trip was good value overall. I was pleasantly surprised because I'd seen some pretty bad reviews after booking a long time ago. The location was great, and the emailed check-in instructions were easy to follow. They also called the night before, though I missed it.
