The only downside for me was the lack of nearby places like pubs or cafes, and that wasn't the owners' fault. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay and I thought the price was reasonable. The accommodation was clean and tidy, with all the gadgets you'd need and comfortable beds. There were two parking spaces beside the house and the back garden caught plenty of sun. The owner phoned during the week and had a lovely, smiley chat with my mum and dad. Her husband was great too when we spoke in passing.

We booked this for a family break and will definitely come back soon. It's excellent accommodation for six, a few minutes' walk from Kendal centre, and you can find it on air b&b. The kids let Mum & Dad (me) have the en-suite room, which also had a sleigh bed. Highly recommended.

A cosy, comfortable and spacious home, really well equipped for evenings in. It's right by the river Kent and an easy walk to Kendal centre or the castle. We found it a lovely base for exploring the lakes and can't recommend it enough.

Everything we needed was there, and communication from the hosts was excellent. It's a luxurious, comfortable place, with large, spotless rooms and tasteful decor. Parking is secure and right beside the house, and town is about a 10 minute walk away. Highly recommend!

We were four friends at the Kendal Mountain Festival and would happily stay again. School House holiday cottage is beautifully decorated, well equipped and ideally placed for Kendal and the rest of the Lakes. Hosts Heidi and Dave have great resources for waking the region, including walks arranged by difficulty.
