The village of Braithwaite was lovely, with nice local pubs and a village shop selling amazing cakes. The B&B was in an ideal spot for our two nights of hiking in the Lakes, and we had a wonderful stay. Phil was very accommodating when we arrived and explained what we needed to know. The place felt homely and put us at ease. Each room has an ensuite, which is a great addition as not all B&Bs do. We filled in breakfast sheets the night before, choosing a time, and everything was cooked to order. Helen made a wonderful breakfast on both mornings, and the food was incredible fuel for exploring. Our room was a good size, comfortable and well equipped. It was topped up and tidied each day, so it was lovely to come back to. The hospitality from Phil and Hermiston Guest House made our short Lake District break even better. Thank you again!

The guest house overlooks the hills and has a magical, whimsical feel. Breakfast was 10/10, and I’d highly recommend staying here. My husband and I spent the bank holiday weekend at Hermiston Guest House, our first time in the Lake District. Phil gave us kind advice on where to go and what to see. We ended up walking around Derwent Water and Catbells. It’s only a short drive away, but we walked there, and the route was absolutely stunning and scenic.

The views were beautiful to wake up to, and the room was really comfortable. Breakfast was great, too. Phil and Helen were fab hosts, attentive and very knowledgeable about the area. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Phil and Helen looked after us so well that there was nothing more they could have done. They were caring and friendly from start to finish, and everything ran smoothly thanks to how well organised and efficient it all was. Our room was comfortable, with a lovely ensuite, and everywhere was clean, tidy and homely. There was a real eye for detail. The food was lovely, hot and to a high standard. We highly recommend staying here.

We had a 10/10 stay at the start of December. Phil was extremely accommodating, and our room was super cosy with amazing mountain views. Breakfast was lovely, too. We couldn’t really ask for more. Thanks so much for having us, we’ll be back!
