The quiet setting was an absolute delight, and we had everything we needed. There’s no fridge and the amenities are basic, but that didn’t bother us. The place is super clean, the beds are comfy, the shower’s great and breakfast is filling. It’s close to a park where I took my little one, and only a few minutes’ walk from town and the pencil museum. Great private parking, and an EV charge point not far away. We loved the location and our stay, and will recommend it and come back.

The location is great, but the place felt dark and dingy. Our room was cramped and dated, and the bathroom barely worked. There was heavy black mold in patches across the bathroom ceiling. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The proprietors were nice, and we could see how welcome they made guests feel from the way they interacted with people at breakfast. Breakfast was good. It’s clean and very central, yet quiet, with beautiful views from the rooms. The rooms are a little dated but have everything you need.

The owner greeted us very rudely and made us feel really uncomfortable. As we were leaving, we saw her banging on someone’s car and screaming at the driver. Awful experience.

The room was spotlessly clean and breakfast was a lovely full English. It’s a good guest house, about a five-minute walk from the town centre, and fine for a short stay, though the small TV didn’t work. There’s a slight slope on the road up to it, four steep steps at the entrance, then the usual stairs, so it’s not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
