We were staying in our motorhome at the site across the road and dropped in for a couple of beers on a few evenings. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were fantastic. Someone suggested Sunday lunch, so we booked a table. The food had loads of flavour and came in generous portions. The whole team was excellent. We’re looking forward to another trip to this area and will definitely head back to ruddings for drinks and food.

The views were outstanding, and we appreciated that the property welcomed dogs. Our room was comfortable, well equipped and well kept. The staff were attentive and made us feel welcome from the start. Each morning, the breakfast server kept us laughing with light-hearted jokes and was so approachable. We didn’t catch her name, but she was a big part of why we’ll return. As first-time visitors, we were thoroughly impressed and are grateful to everyone who helped make our trip memorable.

We spent Christmas at this beautiful hotel with our dog and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. There are lovely walks right from the door, a great view, and local pubs close by. The rooms are beautiful and can be kept very warm. The food was outstanding, and our dog even got chopped sausage at breakfast. Every staff member worked hard and greeted us with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. We met plenty of well-behaved dogs and owners, and we’ll definitely return. Thank you, and happy New Year to all the staff.

The food was outstanding, the best Christmas dinner I’ve had. We came as a large group on New Year’s Eve and were a bit loud, so the staff sensibly seated us slightly away from the main restaurant. They were brilliant, patient and accommodating, and the service was very good considering our group size.

Our room was excellent and had its own terrace, and the hotel looks after dogs very well. The room alone made the price worthwhile, so we can’t really complain about breakfast, but it was disappointing. The restaurant seats need a steam clean, as the stains, watermarks and dirt could easily come off. They’d be onto a winner with someone who can cook a full English properly. Getting the egg right would be a start.
