The Swallows Rest Bed & Breakfast

The room was stunning, modern and very clean, and Sam was always happy to help. I’ve stayed in plenty of mainstream hotels over my career, and this place stands head and shoulders above them. Breakfast was perfect, and the homemade cookie waiting when I arrived was gone in less than 10 seconds. What an amazing find.

I’ve already booked future dates. It’s a wonderful B&B in a lovely village setting, with a warm, helpful host, a comfortable clean room and a delicious breakfast. Nothing to fault.

The host was incredibly friendly and sociable. She gave us freshly baked cookies when we arrived and showed us around the accommodation. If you’re introverted, that much interaction might feel like a bit much. Any snacks and drinks that cost extra were clearly labelled. Breakfast is included in the room price and cooked fresh for you in the morning. There’s a nice range of options, served in smaller portions, so pick a few. The room itself was one of the best, if not the best, I’ve stayed in during my last three weeks in the UK. It was spacious and modern, with a clean bathroom and lovely shower. There was room for two large suitcases, two small ones and several other bags without feeling cramped. It had a fridge, kettle and all the amenities you need. A second stool would be useful for two people to sit in the room, though there’s a shared dining room or outside area.

So peaceful, a perfect little hideaway. In the morning you can see sheep from your bed, and there’s a great breakfast selection. Sam added lovely touches, including homemade welcome cookies. The room was lovely, and I’ll most definitely be back.
