The views are gorgeous, especially in the morning mist, and this quaint place has become a favourite of mine after several stays. I usually book the large room, which is really nice and has a certain charm. Both the B & B and tea room feel homey, and the owners are friendly and helpful. Five stars from me.

The cooked breakfast was the best I’ve had in a long time, and the hosts were lovely. I ended up here at the last minute after the three peaks challenge, to avoid driving home. The village is quiet, peaceful and picturesque, with lovely views and country walks. The rooms are cosy too. I’d have been happier staying longer, but work called me back. I’d recommend it and hope to return soon.

Zarina and David were perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in The Old Schoolroom, a lovely room with everything we needed and more, and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was tasty, and they packed us each a bun and homemade flapjack when we asked. Yummy. I can highly recommend staying here.

Breakfast was cooked to order with local ingredients, and the owners were super friendly and full of local knowledge. The room was really comfortable and even had a big TV. It’s a lovely little place that stays true to its spirit. There’s an AGA in the kitchen, handy for drying your gear after getting soaked on the moors as well as cooking. We’d definitely stay again.

The food and drink were excellent, and the servers were lovely. Still, it felt like kids weren’t welcome. I was there with my wife and children, who were happily reading while we waited for food, when the owner spent several minutes loudly complaining to a table of cyclists about “school holiday visitors,” with her back to us. The kids didn’t notice, but it felt unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome.
