The homemade bread and scones at breakfast were delicious, and breakfast overall was excellent. Monica and Roman made us feel welcome and were so friendly. A lovely place to stay, with very comfortable accommodation.

Dall Lodge Country House in Killin makes a great base for exploring the area. Monica’s detailed maps and local tips were invaluable, whether we wanted nearby historical walks or longer Highland treks. She and Roman, the husband-and-wife team running the lodge, bring so much warmth and knowledge of the area. The whole place has a cosy country feel, and the rooms are spotless. Breakfast was unforgettable. We started with overnight porridge topped with estate honey and preserves, then had Roman’s fresh-baked breads. The full Scottish breakfast included locally sourced meats from butcher Dave Camrie & Son, and was one of the best we had on our UK tour. Dall Lodge is a gem in the heart of the low Highlands.

Monica made us feel like returning friends from the moment she welcomed us. Her tips for enjoying the region were VERY helpful, and the atmosphere was relaxing straight away. The house has vintage charm and has clearly been lovingly maintained. With beautiful surroundings and plenty to do nearby, Dall Lodge was one of the best places we stayed and an ideal base for exploring.

A family medical emergency back home reached us just before we arrived, so we had to leave very early the next morning. Monica was incredibly kind and packed sandwiches and snacks for us to make up for missing breakfast. She also included some local honey, which I think is sold along with other local items in their gift shop. I’m so glad we chose Dall Lodge. It’s one of the best places we stayed, with a beautifully maintained house full of vintage charm. The area is beautiful and offers plenty to do, so it would make a great base for exploring. I hope to return when things are less stressful and have more time here.
