We stayed in an open-plan studio with central heating, a great bathroom and a lovely kitchen. The family who run Whitestone Cottage are extremely nice, friendly and knowledgeable about local history and the area. It's tucked into the Ayrshire countryside beside Culzean Castle, with a pleasant path down to the beach. You can manage without a car since the bus stops right across the road. If the weather allows, there's an outside patio where you could have a BBQ.

The room was a bit tight, but did exactly what I needed at a fair price. It was clean and comfortable, the beds were comfy, and I got a friendly welcome. They'd left something to eat in the morning, plus tea and coffee making facilities. Thank you.

The service was outstanding. They brought a fully cooked breakfast, along with cereals, fruit and yogurt, right to the cottage, so there was no need to cook. It's a wonderfully cosy wee place, though it's not very close to amenities, so bring provisions.
