Sue at reception was so friendly and kind, and really helped make me feel welcome. The restaurant and bar team were great too, attentive and pleasant throughout. I was on a running trip and appreciated having a spacious, comfortable room with a bathtub. Breakfast was excellent, with choices that worked well for my dietary needs. A fantastic stay at Premier Inn Pontefract. I’ll definitely come back.

The restaurants next door have an indoor and outdoor play area for kids, which looked great. I only wish my kids had been with me, hehe. I’m not sure whether they allow dogs. The staff were polite and friendly, and the location is amazing. I’ll be back.

There’s plenty of parking, and the train station is fairly close, which was handy. We stayed for two days with breakfast included. The room was decent, clean, and the bed was comfortable enough; breakfast was decent too. There’s no lift, so keep that in mind if you have mobility needs. The corridors are very narrow, and getting my double pram through was difficult. There are lots of doors along them as well, so I had to keep pushing and holding them open.

The room was lovely when we arrived for Christmas, but on Christmas morning the macerator stopped and the toilet blocked. Reception gave me a toilet brush and expected me to sort it out. That wasn’t acceptable, especially that day. The receptionist stayed seated and didn’t come to look or offer help. We moved rooms later that night after celebrating with family, and again received no assistance. The new room was also a considerable distance from reception and the entrance. This isn’t the level of care I expect, so we may have to stay elsewhere next time.
