The Golden Pheasant

We had the triple-decker club sandwich, and it was beautifully made and delicious. The pub has gorgeous decor, a lovely fireplace and a quiet feel. Nathan served us and was so accommodating and lovely. He told us the specials for the day and knew the menu well. Thank you!

There were 12 of us, adults and children, dining at The Golden Pheasant, and everyone was well looked after. Nathan and Lisa took great care of the group, and the service and food were excellent throughout. We had a large table at the back with a view over the garden, a lovely spot. The restaurant feels warm and welcoming, and the staff are genuinely friendly. Highly recommended, we’ll definitely be back.

The food was outstanding, especially the triple cheese and onion pie with chips, peas and gravy. The pastry was soft just right, and the cheese had plenty of flavour without overpowering everything. We finished with apple crumble, ice cream and custard. Lisa suggested we skip the double pastry, but we’re glad we didn’t, it was perfect. She was friendly and helpful throughout, and her recommendations were spot on. The whole team made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The Golden Pheasant is cosy and beautiful, with warm fires and a welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to Lisa and everyone for looking after us so well. Great food and atmosphere, highly recommended.

The room was clean, spacious and good value, and there was a roaring log fire in the breakfast room, which was a real plus. Staff gave us a very warm welcome and were hospitable and helpful. The food was simple, well-presented pub grub, just right for the setting, and I thought it was good value for money. My only observation is that parts of the place are looking a little tired and could use a coat of paint. I’d definitely recommend it.
