Lucy was a real asset. When the local area lost power, she handled it and couldn't have been more helpful. A special mention too for Robyn and Kate in housekeeping, and Adam in the kitchen. We’ve spent many years in hospitality ourselves, so we don’t say this lightly: we’d highly recommend this beautiful hotel and its exceptional food. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stopped here for a night while doing the NC500, and the setting was so peaceful, with lovely Loch views from the restaurant, bar, lounge and some of the rooms. The hotel feels fresh and modern, and was very clean. Staff were friendly, and the restaurant food was lovely, with seafood on both the breakfast and evening menus. Some of it comes from the Loch. Next time I’d book a room with a Loch view, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The rooms were cosy, the showers were fantastic, and the price felt right. We had a wonderful winter stay, with friendly, polite staff who were attentive and caring despite working tirelessly. The food was delicious, much of it sourced very locally. There’s a fishery in the loch, so the shellfish choices were exquisite, especially for the price. Building work was under way for much-needed extensions because of the summer popularity, but I’d still highly recommend spending time here in winter. My one request: please refill the biscuits, tea and coffee each day, and provide a decaf tea option in the room.

The room was clean and comfortable, with amazing views, and the restaurant had a good choice of food and drinks. Breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. Most of all, thank you to the woman on reception, who also served us in the bar at dinner and at breakfast. I’m sorry I can’t remember your name, but you looked after us and our two dogs so well after we’d had bad weather in our roof tent on the previous nights. It was a great stay.

It’s quiet at the end of the road through the fishing village, yet close to the NC500 route. The next petrol station is only 10-15mins away, so that was no stress. I slept really well under the dark skies, with owls nearby calling back and forth earlier in the evening. The views down the water and up into the hills are stunning, especially through the bar and restaurant’s long windows. My room was spacious and in top condition, and the early spring discount rate was a steal. The woman at the desk made us feel welcome right away, and clearly loves the place. Dinner was very good, and I’d recommend the cauliflower steak for non-meat eaters.
