Lancaster Townhouse

After a real problem with the previous guest house owner, I was met by a lovely, welcoming lady. She made me feel at home and explained everything I needed to know.

Stuart is a great host, and the place feels homely. The staff are welcoming and the price is good for this area. It's not a five-star hotel, but it was cleaner than some bigger, better-known places. The rooms were immaculate, the beds comfy, and there was plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was great, with snacks and drinks available to take away too.

The outside looks a little anonymous, but Stuart gives you a warm welcome and makes the place feel homely straight away. Our room was well kept and much more spacious than others at a similar price. There were more pillows, cushions and blankets than we could ever need. The guest lounge and small dining space were a nice touch, with a microwave and plates available for use during the day or evening. Though it's on a busy road, our room at the back was very quiet. We'd definitely stay again and recommend it.

We had a pleasant two-night stay. The B&B was clean and the people friendly. Breakfast is self-service, with cereal and toast to choose from. The new owner has made a nice sitting room and dining area where you can eat takeaway, which gives the place a homely feel. It's a 25-minute walk into town.
