We had a lovely meal for our Christmas party. They may have underestimated how many of us would be drinking, because the bar was very, very busy.

We’ve just moved to the area and had lunch at the station Hotel this afternoon. The steak pie was melt in the mouth and delicious, and the food was excellent. One person in our party was gluten free and said her sea bass was the best she’d ever had. The cocktail selection was tempting. My wife enjoyed a sea breeze, though I didn’t get to try it. Service was prompt and polite, and the serving staff were excellent and worth every penny of the tip. We’ll be back to try the beer garden.

We meet here now and then with the boys to talk about our trips abroad. This time we watched the football and had really nice food at half time. All eight of us enjoyed the food, drinks, and service. It’s a great, convenient spot for catching the train home.

I went on Tuesday. My sister had the kids’ pizza, chips, and beans and finished it all. I had ribeye steak with onion rings and hand cut chips. It was a big portion, and I couldn’t finish it.
