A good price and well placed as a base for exploring. The double room was lovely and had everything you could think of, plus thoughtful touches like a little individual chocolate on each bedside table and bottled water. There’s a small table and chairs, handy if you want to bring food back, though you need to ask for cutlery.

Amy and Ian were friendly and welcoming, and there were plenty of hot and cold breakfast options. I stayed three nights in a single room at the Peacock Guest House and was very comfortable. The room had everything I could possibly need, and it’s only a few minutes’ walk from the seafront. As a woman travelling alone, I felt very safe there.

I really appreciated the extra effort for my gluten-free diet as someone with coeliac disease. They called ahead to check my food preferences, and I arrived to find gluten-free biscuits in the room. Breakfast the next morning was a lovely cooked gluten-free meal. The room was clean and ideal for an overnight stop. Lovely guest house that went above and beyond.

We had a very poor stay at this B&B. The hosts made us feel unsafe and unwelcome, communication wasn’t good, and there was very little sense of hospitality.
