Curran Court Hotel

Karen was on duty and was just lovely and attentive. We’d planned to sleep in our campervan at the port before the morning ferry, but changed our minds and stopped here on Friday night. So glad we did. The hotel was lovely, with a large, clean, tidy and comfortable room. Although the kitchen had closed, the receptionist suggested Mayur, the Indian restaurant across the road, where we had a lovely meal. In the morning we had a nice hot power shower, then tea and toast before heading to the ferry port. What an absolute gem, I’d highly recommend staying here.

I used to stay every week. The local team are lovely and do their best to look after everyone, whether they’re from the area or not. Good food, a wide choice of beers, and great service. Excellent place.

We’ve eaten at the Curran Court many times and recommended it to others, but after today we won’t be doing that anymore. My husband’s Gammon was tough and dry, and while my skin cod smelled quite fishy when it arrived, it tasted nice. We both ended up with heartburn after the meal, so all in all it was a disappointment. The hotel didn’t charge us for my husband’s meal, though we weren’t after a free meal, just a nice one to finish a nice day out.

There was only a burger and flatbread option for a vegetarian, but I enjoyed my meal. We stopped for lunch, so I can’t comment on the rooms. Service was prompt and friendly. I’d definitely recommend it for food. Thank you!
