Halfway House Hotel

The secure car park was a nice bonus, and there were plenty of bar meals on offer in the evening. I was the only guest, but breakfast was still nicely presented, with a good range of hot and cold options. I stayed one night on the way back to larne ferry port after a motorbike trip. The room was bright and roomy, and the large bathroom looked recently upgraded.

The prices were unbelievably good value, and the staff, including the owners, gave brilliant service. Seven of us had birthday lunch with a lovely table looking out to sea. The roast beef, pork and chicken were all first class, with great vegetables, a choice of potatoes and lovely gravy. Homemade apple pie was wonderful too. Compliments to the chef. We'd absolutely recommend it.

The order was wrong, and by the time it was corrected the food had gone cold. Service and presentation were terrible. When we pointed out the mistake, management responded argumentatively and need to learn how to welcome and deal with customers. I won't be back.

The lunch was very enjoyable and the service was good. There's a great car park opposite, and you can book a stay here too. A little light music in the background would help create some atmosphere.
