The Roebuck Inn

There’s a large garden at the back, plus an outdoor play area for children, and dogs are welcome too. The food was tasty and nicely presented, and the friendly staff served us promptly.

We all left happy with what we ordered at The Roebuck. Our meal included vegan curry, fish and chips, ham, egg and chips, and arancini. Everything was delicious and presented nicely. Highly recommended.

I’ve been coming here for roasts for a long time, so it’s such a shame to see how far things have slipped. Today was the worst roast I’ve ever had, and the worst service I’ve received. I was ignored for the first five minutes after walking in, with no hello or smile. When someone finally acknowledged me, she was behind the bar tapping away at the screen. Our two roast lunches were barely warm, the carrots were rock hard, the potatoes were cold and revolting, and the lamb was inedible. Both children refused to eat, and we left the food. Service was extremely slow. The pudding plates were left in the children’s way, and we waited a long time for cutlery until I sent my daughter to ask for some. The sticky toffee pudding was dry and came without toffee sauce. When I asked for the bill, nobody came back, so in the end we left. A TERRIBLE visit.

The produce was locally sourced and tasted delicious, and the staff were really friendly and attentive. We all had a wonderful meal at this lovely village pub. Thank you.
