A lovely family day out, with a shop and museum on site and picnic benches by the railway and farther along the walking path. You pay one fee and can ride the quaint little steam train back and forth all day if you like. The owners run the privately owned place themselves and were busy but really helpful. Dogs are welcome, and the cafe has a thoughtful range for different dietary needs. The cake was lovely, and the sweet potato curry was really tasty.

Kay and Nigel made us feel very welcome and looked after us so well. The period railway cottage is charming and extremely comfortable, with a queen-size bed. It’s well maintained, and anything that came up was sorted straight away. The cottage has everything you could want for a week’s stay, including the owners nearby if you need anything. We couldn’t have been happier and are already counting down to our return in 2022.

Nigel and Kay were so welcoming during our lovely week in this beautiful cottage. Their narrow-gauge railway is lovely too, and well worth seeing. We’ll be back next year.

The owners were just amazing, and the location worked really well for a family holiday, with anywhere in Cornwall easy to visit. I can’t recommend it enough and would love to come back.

We’ve been coming back for years because we love this place. The owners are kind and thoughtful, and the warm, cosy cottage has everything you need. My son especially loves riding the train.
