The garden is beautiful, with three levels of mature plants and plenty of places to sit. Once the gates are shut, it feels like a little haven of your own. The cottage makes a striking first impression as you come through the gates, and the garden is a big part of its charm. The layout may be tricky for young children and adults with mobility issues, though. We stayed for two weeks and visited beaches and attractions, but you'll need a car since nothing is within walking distance. The kitchen has plenty of appliances and utensils, though cleaning could have been more thorough: there were crumbs in the cutlery drawer, the fridge wasn't properly clean inside, and a cupboard had spilled spices left in it. The two bedrooms are at opposite ends, one upstairs and one downstairs, so it's not ideal for families with young children. Having two separate bathrooms, both with showers, was a bonus. Watch your head around the low ceilings; I lost count of the times I bumped mine. The living room is very dark because the windows are small, though that's part of the property's character. Fairy lights around the fireplace give it a warm glow. Some wallpaper is starting to peel, and the interior decor is looking a little tired.

The cottage was peaceful and warm, with great beds and an electric blanket we loved. We could see cows from the back windows, and the garden felt secluded and private. The owner called on the evening we arrived to check everything was okay. It's a lovely little gem, and I'm envious. We'd love to come back soon; it had everything we needed.

We had a great time here and have already booked for next year. Any problem that came up was sorted the same day, which made the stay even better.

There’s loads of room in this cosy, comfortable cottage. The garden looks like it’ll be lovely in summer.
