The pub food is top notch and tastes like it’s made with care. The shepherd’s pie is second to none in my opinion, and the beer and wine selection is fantastic. Staff are amazing, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. It’s a lovely countryside stay in a small, peaceful village that’s great for relaxing, while still close to nearby cities.

We spent two nights here for my husband’s significant birthday. The price was £285, and only a limited continental breakfast was included. Room 7 smelled strongly of drains and raw sewage. There was a bad stain on the bathroom wall beside the toilet, and the skirting boards by the shower were rotting. When I complained, they said they knew about it and would get it fixed the following week or the week after. If they knew, why not apologise and offer compensation? I felt they were hoping we wouldn’t notice. The food was overpriced, and potatoes and vegetables cost extra rather than coming with the meal. We waited more than an hour after ordering. A service charge was automatically added to the bill. I wouldn’t recommend staying or eating here.

We had such a lovely weekend away. The room was spacious, the bed really comfortable, and the walk-in shower was great. The food was full of flavour and good value, and the views and peaceful setting made it all the better. The owners and staff were so friendly and polite, always happy to stop for a chat. Everything was top notch. And please, whatever you do, don’t change the toilet doors! If you know, you know 😊

We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Cotswolds. The rooms and building are spacious, nicely decorated and welcoming. There’s plenty of parking, the staff are friendly, and both the bedroom and bathroom were comfortable and roomy. The food was delicious too.

The staff looked after us brilliantly during our one-night stay, and everyone in the village seemed friendly as well. Dinner and breakfast were both good, and the beer was well kept. The pub itself was smart and tidy. I did bang my knee on an outdoor chair, but to be fair, that wasn’t the pub’s, staff’s or chair’s fault.
