Arena Village - Campus Accommodation

The staff are some of the kindest, friendliest and most helpful people I’ve met. They explain things clearly and help straight away without making you feel bad for asking, so you never feel worried about going to them. Especially Gavin Terry and Sid. The location’s perfect, with the city centre, university, Cathedral, pubs, restaurants, takeaways and the merrion shopping centre all within a 10-minute walk.

Staying at Arena Village was absolutely wonderful, it felt like a home away from home. Big thanks to Terry, Sid, Gavin, Pia, Mark, Steven and Ted!!! 🥳

I stayed at Arena Village for five months, from February to July 2022. The location made my time there good: it’s close to the Merrion Center, a bus stop, the gym and places to eat. My room was spacious, with lots of storage, and the under-bed space was a big plus. I moved in during winter, and the heating worked well. The thick window blind kept the daylight out. Wi-Fi worked excellently for me, with no trouble connecting multiple devices. The elevators were fast, and I didn’t have to wait long, even though I was on the 19th floor and always used them. Staff were very attentive. They were helpful, and things were repaired almost as soon as I reported them. I could also have parcels delivered to them and pick them up when I got back. They take good care of students and arrange several activities to keep people engaged. There are some areas that need work. The elevators were often dirty, and the common areas, especially the spaces by the room elevators, didn’t seem to get cleaned regularly. With only one cleaner for the whole building, it didn’t seem possible for cleaning to be frequent or thorough. The study area and gym would feel less claustrophobic downstairs in a more ventilated space. The staircase and basement laundry area are quite creepy and could use a makeover. Bathrooms also need a proper industrial clean between tenants, since the tiles and mirrors seemed permanently stained. I’d rate the accommodation 3.3 stars. It’s not the Marriot, but you’ll get your money’s worth, especially if you’re an international student looking for somewhere to stay when you first arrive at the University.

The location’s great, and everyone’s friendly. Everything I’ve experienced while staying here has been great, and the staff are welcoming and lovely.
