Green Room

The atmosphere is nice and the drinks were good, but a rude staff member ruined the visit. I was alone at the bar, waiting a considerable time while two female staff looked at their phones and did little. A gentleman beside me was already being served by a male staff member. I politely asked him if anyone else was serving, and he politely asked one of the women to take my order. I didn't complain about the women being on their phones or say anything rude. After pouring the four cocktails I'd ordered, one of them lectured me, calling me rude and “snide” for asking her colleague if anyone else could serve me. I was so shocked that I left straight away without paying for the drinks. I've managed several bars and understand staff need a time out, but the way this was handled was out of order and spoiled the visit. She seemed very entitled, and I don't expect a lecture when ordering cocktails at £12.50 a go. Unacceptable.

May made me feel so welcome at Green Room, even though I don't usually spend time in Leeds. She helped me pick a cocktail to suit my preferences, a Mango Smash, and it was delicious. I had an amazing time and would absolutely recommend it.

It's an easy walk from the city, especially from the train station. The atmosphere is lovely, though it gets busy fast. When I went with friends to catch up, it felt cosy. Upstairs is really beautiful, and the heaters are a nice touch in winter. The regular hot chocolate was a bit underwhelming, so I'd splash out on the special one. The draft beer is really good.

Meg (in the big dog jumper) was such a babe. I ordered from her three or four times, and she was attentive every time and made a banging margarita. We had a lovely chat about our dogs, and she was so friendly and optimistic. I worry this sounds like a mate leaving a glowing review, but she really was that good. 11 out of 10.
