ibis Styles Leeds Centre Arena

The room was very clean, with everything I needed, and the thermostat was straightforward to use. The bed was comfortable too. The shower had plenty of space, but the bathroom itself was cramped: the toilet roll was right where you sit, and there wasn't much room between the door and basin.

I was travelling alone and stayed four nights. Breakfast was the main problem: each time I tried the hot food it was cold, especially the bacon and sausages. The bacon had been folded during cooking, leaving some bits burnt and others barely cooked. Cereal choices were poor and there was nothing healthy. My room was pleasant enough but very small, particularly the bathroom. The first impression wasn't good either. The receptionist at check-in was unfriendly and impolite, and basically threw the key at me without even wishing me a nice stay. I meant to share this at checkout, but the staff quickly took my key without any courtesy.

Check-in was easy, and the hot drinks machine was a welcome extra on the cold, wet day we arrived. The hotel was well placed, with lots to do and plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our room was comfortable and a decent size, though the pillows felt like blocks of concrete.

We were only a few minutes' walk from the city centre, which made it handy for our concert at The First Direct Arena. Reception was faultless, and our room was nice, with lovely beds that let us both sleep really well. The bathroom was compact. Breakfast was presented nicely, but the bacon had gone a bit rubbery from sitting in a tray over a hot water unit, so it was hard to cut. Even with that, we had a really good experience and would recommend the Ibis styles to anyone going to the Arena.
