Park Plaza Leeds

Right by the train station and within walking distance of lots of attractions, this is a good base for visiting Leeds, especially if you arrive without a car. The hotel has good service and a nice breakfast. I’d recommend it for a city visit.

My husband ordered Valentine decorations, which looked quite nice, but the flowers felt overpriced, hidden by leaves, and there were barely any roses, just five. The bigger problem was the room. Water leaked heavily through the ceiling, soaked the carpet, and kept dripping loudly enough to disturb rest and sleep. There was also a security concern, and the shower ran out of hot water. This hotel is conveniently within walking distance of the train station, but the room needs maintenance. We told reception, but they blamed the air conditioning and showed no sense of responsibility. They didn’t take action seriously.

The price felt like reasonably good value, and I’d stay again, though I’m not convinced it deserves four stars. Three or perhaps three and a half seems closer. The location was good, with a bar and fusion restaurant, but paying for parking through a QR code inside was awkward because stopping on the road is difficult and you have to go in to scan it. Staff were okay, but service wasn’t outstanding. The room was acceptable, though it could do with renovation.

We got an upgrade to a clean, good-sized corner room with great views across Leeds. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location worked brilliantly for the city centre, about a 15-minute walk from the Arena. There was a good breakfast selection, though the cooked breakfast could’ve been hotter.
