Student Only Exchange Court

I moved into exchange court in December after waiting a long time for the building to be ready. Before that, I spent a few months in temporary student accommodation. It was very nice, clean and had lots of events, but it was far from the university, so I had a long walk and often needed Ubers. The moving company they hired was helpful in bringing my things to my new room. There are things I hope they improve. The room windows need cleaning on the outside, and there’s only one ground-floor WC for everyone. It hasn’t been updated and doesn’t look as nice as the rest of the accommodation. There are no resident events, vending machine or milk for the coffee machine. Some shared rooms, like the karaoke room, aren’t ready. Parts of the building are dirty and need regular cleaning. The gym needs finishing and more machines. Some shared areas are freezing in winter, and there’s no bin storage room, just a large yellow container outside that’s full of rubbish. There are positives too: the rooms and public spaces are nice, the building has a modern look and feels secure behind a gate. A staff member can speak Mandarin, the residents are nice, and everything is new. My room has a big oven, and the communal kitchen has lots of machines for everyone to use. I like living here and hope these issues are fixed so I can stay next year.
