The Bungalow

We paid £54 for Saturday 13th September to Sunday 14th September, which was a very good price, but there were a lot of problems that need sorting out. The room had thin walls, so we could hear everyone talking, and the floor was in bad shape, with constant dust and footsteps audible everywhere. The mattress was hard, and the pillows and duvet were thin. After using the shower, water ran toward the toilet. There was no internet, so we couldn't watch TV from check-in until we left. We only had two towels and couldn't ask for more because there was no reception. There were no small bottles of shampoo or shower gel, either. A shared kitchen also needs a sink and tea towels. When I called about the internet, I was told I could either leave or get some money back. Some things in our bedroom were hanging off the wall. They need to redo every room.

We paid £40 for two people for the night, and it felt like good value. The twin room had comfortable beds and pillows, and the electric shower had good water pressure. The location was quiet, with secure off-street parking. There was tea and coffee in the room, plus a communal kitchen with a fridge. Communication about getting in and checking in and out was great.

The room was reasonably clean at first glance, but lifting the mattress to retrieve my key showed they hadn't cleaned under the bed in weeks. Deplorable. I won't come back, and the nightly price isn't justified. I come to Leeds twice a month to see my girlfriend, who can't accommodate me, so I stay in hotels. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There was no receptionist. After booking, I got a text with room 1, self check-in details, and the safe code for the front door and room key. The room was by the entrance and the microwave area, so noise from there carried on until around 11 pm. The text didn't include the Wi-Fi password, so I had to use mobile data, which didn't help much. The shower mat was damp and smelled bad, and the bath towels weren't fully dry. Neither the room heater nor the towel heater worked. Around midnight all the sockets in the room stopped working, so I had to charge my phone and laptop by the microwave. Room 1 was right in front of that area. I added a picture of my phone and laptop charging beside the microwave, with the TV off because the sockets weren't working.

The service lady was nice, but this place needs a complete overhaul. We spent two nights in the attic room, where the Wi-Fi didn't reach. Everything felt damp, and the handheld shower had poor pressure, making the bathroom experience terrible. There was no kitchen or sink access, and the breakfast advertised on booking.com wasn't included.
