For just one night the small room was manageable, but it was very chilly. The radiator was only lukewarm whenever we were there, despite being told the heating comes on four times a day. I couldn't sleep well with cold feet and traffic noise. Our room was on the corner of the crossroads, and I even heard the pedestrian crossing button being pressed early in the morning. Since renovations are underway, I'd suggest adding some soundproofing. The wet room was tiny, as was the sink. I think the place needs to improve a bit to meet normal B&B standards. Sorry, just being honest.

We stopped in for a full English breakfast, and it was the best we'd had in a while. Very tasty, with polite, welcoming staff.

The bar didn't feel inviting, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. We booked a twin room but got a box room with no lampshade. The toilet was next door, and we had to put the kettle on the floor to make a cuppa. It was absolutely awful. Reception said we'd booked the cheapest room, but does that make this okay? For what we paid, it should have cost half as much.

The bar had a great atmosphere, and the staff couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. The food was beautifully presented and tasted great, while the rooms were finished to a very high standard. A very well-presented hotel. We'd definitely stay here again.
