Thorpeness Golf Club and Hotel

The golf course was in good condition, and the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. Our rooms were very nice and clean, and the two days went just right. Excellent value, and we’d definitely return.

From reception to the bar, restaurant and pro shop, everyone made us feel welcome with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The hospitality at Thorpeness was first class, and the food during my stay was excellent. Thanks, I’ll be back soon.

The peaceful countryside and lake views made for a really relaxing break. My room was comfortable and clean, with a lovely view, and breakfast had lots of choice and tasted great. The staff were welcoming and the service was excellent throughout. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. I’d happily return and recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, with a lovely balcony and view over the golf course. The hotel is also an easy walk from the beach and Thorpeness Meare. Outside, it looked a bit shabby. We enjoyed a lovely weekend overall, but checkout with one receptionist spoiled it. I thought I’d paid, though I hadn’t. Each time I tried to explain, she interrupted me, at least five times by my count, to insist payment hadn’t been taken. I eventually asked her to let me finish. She smirked, bit her lip, then looked at and smirked with her colleague. The meal was lovely, especially the outstanding pate. The white wine was disappointingly warm, and dessert took over 30 minutes. The waitresses apologised and offered complimentary Baileys and coffee, though the coffee was weak and lukewarm. Everyone else on staff was friendly and accommodating.
