The Dorset

We only meant to stop for a quick drink and chicken wings, but ended up liking the place. The wings hit the spot, the staff were pleasant, and the toilets were clean and well looked after. The pub feels fresh and clean while still holding on to its history, and has a genuinely nice atmosphere, even with Guy Fawkes looming over it. A surprisingly good little stop.

I came over from Oxford for a family get-together and stayed the night. This small pub and hotel is highly recommended. The room was spotless, with plenty of towels, toiletries and nice white linen. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. I’ve paid twice as much elsewhere and got terrible service. Couldn’t ask for more, five stars.

My husband and I went for the Sunday roast, and wow, the meals were absolutely brilliant. I had beef and he had lamb. Great value for money and excellent service. I’d definitely recommend it, and we’ll be back very soon.

The welcome was brilliant, and dinner was perfect. I stayed one night while visiting Harvey’s brewery, and the pub hotel was great. My room was clean and comfortable, with everything I needed, including a decent coffee machine. The shower had loads of hot water too. I’d happily recommend staying here.
