No.8 Cairn Cottage

Cairn Cottage is lovely and in a great location. We stayed for a week and had a very enjoyable time. The rooms were clean and well presented, with powerful showers and plenty of storage. There was more than enough parking for our six motorcycles, and having a hose to clean them after a long ride was a great bonus. We arrived after a very wet ride from the South Coast and were disappointed there was no welcome pack, so we couldn’t even make coffee. Luckily, the village shop was still open. Finding dinner was tricky: the Fox & Hounds kitchen was closed and the Wensleydale Heifer was fully booked. We managed to get fish and chips to take away from the Heifer, though they were quite expensive. Future visitors might find the large Tesco in Catterick useful for stocking up. Despite those small arrival hassles, we had a great stay. We’d recommend the cottage and happily book again.
