With its exposed stone walls and plenty of seating inside and out, the pub has been renovated with a lot of care. The new owners are very friendly. We dropped in on a busy Friday when the pizza van was in town, and both the Theakston's XXX and the food were excellent. The pub isn't serving its own food, so check when the street food is available if you'd like to eat, and check which days they're open early in the week.

I only stopped for a quick drink on a quiet Sunday afternoon, but it's good to see the village pub back after years of neglect. The inside looks much better, and they've improved the outside area too. I'll come back and spend more time here.
