Holiday Inn Lincoln by IHG

Friendly, capable service, and our rooms overlooking the water were quiet. The hotel is central and has car parking. Lincoln's quaint streets leading up to the castle and cathedral have good independent shops. We were here for a family funeral, but we'll be back.

I'd gladly stay here again. I've used this hotel a number of times for business and will do so again. I spend a lot of nights away from home for work, so good service means a lot. My room had no hot water, which I only discovered after unpacking and taking a long walk up steep hill. I really needed a working shower when I got back. Reception arranged another room after checking it had hot water, and it was clearly an upgrade. The receptionist also kindly gave me two free drinks vouchers for my dinner booking. Problems can happen, and I felt this one was handled promptly, with the inconvenience acknowledged without me having to ask.

The rooms are perfectly suitable, and the hotel is clean, tidy and well situated. Some rooms have been refurbished, and I believe the others are due to be updated. We'll return, and want to thank the team for making our stay so pleasant. Everyone we dealt with was incredibly helpful and friendly, from reception to Trudy in the restaurant and the lady who cleans the room. They couldn't have done any more for us.

The location comes with breathtaking views, though the rooms could use an upgrade. The night manager was professional and gave exceptional service. If you need help late in the evening, I'd recommend asking them.
