Eliot House Hotel

We hired the venue for my wife’s 50th birthday and booked rooms for our guests as well. Derek, his granddaughter and all the staff were superb. They contacted everyone beforehand to let them know there’d be a party, so guests knew what to expect, and everyone was happy with their room and breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble, and we all had a great time. The hire price was very reasonable, and they let us bring our own food and provided the bar. The acoustics work really well for a band or disco; this was my second time playing there. I’ll definitely use the venue again and would recommend it.

The room was bright, clean and comfortable during my work stay, and the hotel had a homely feel. Staff were welcoming and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, and there’s a friendly bar to relax in. Derek, the owner, is a real gem and does everything he can to make your stay great. I’d happily recommend staying here.

We’ve stayed twice and felt welcome both times. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and the rooms are clean and tidy, with good facilities in the rooms, bar and dining areas. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choices. There wasn’t any fried bread, so we asked, and the owner was happy to make some. Very accommodating. My partner and I enjoyed our visits and will definitely return.

Our previous hotel had double-booked us and recommended Eliot house hotel, so we were very grateful. The owner and staff were attentive and went out of their way to make us comfortable. You can feel the generations of experience in the hospitality and professionalism. Our triple room for three was a decent size and clean, with shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom, plus a hair dryer, desk, chair, tea, coffee and even hot chocolate. There were good breakfast choices in a pleasant breakfast room, and it was a lovely start to the day to be greeted by smiling faces. We hope to see you again!
