The room called the “budget room” was comfortable and quite nice, with a good-sized bathroom. The bar had a decent selection, and the food was good value. The homemade pie special is worth a mention. We had an enjoyable weekend here and found it excellent value. Since it’s just across the road from the train station, it’s easy to plan a day out without driving. You can hear trains from the room, though we didn’t find that a big issue.

We were three people and all had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a lovely garden with sunny spots and nice views. Nothing gave us cause for complaint.

It’s in a convenient spot, easy to find, with plenty of parking. We enjoyed the top-notch food and the good choice of beers and other drinks, and there’s a lovely beer garden too. The pub and hotel feel very welcoming, the staff are friendly, and dogs are welcome 🐕. I’d recommend it for a meal, a drink or somewhere to stay.

The Sunday roast at the Sportsmans stood out after we’d tried several local pubs. We could choose our meat and had eight vegetables alongside it, plus the usual roast potatoes. Room 2 gave our family of four plenty of space, and it was comfortable with a modern interior. We appreciated the useful extras, including coffee, tea, hot chocolate, shower gel and shampoo. Breakfast the next morning was good quality and cooked well, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and would come back.
