Trussel Barn

The Garden room bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was scrupulously clean. We loved the deep peace, and Nigel and Richard were as affable and welcoming as hosts could be. Molly and Bertie were sweet too, and Bertie is very proud of his shoes. We look forward to coming back, if they'll have us. We booked two nights at Trussell Barn Bed & Breakfast on a spur of the moment weekend in Cornwall. For late arrivals like us, the guest carport was covered and lit, and made us feel at home before we'd even met the hosts. One small tip: turn left as soon as you enter the driveway for the B&B, and you'll avoid the only problem we had.

The views were wonderful, and the house was quiet and relaxing. Nigel, Richard and their rescue dogs, Bertie and Molly, made it feel very homely. The hosts work hard to make this such an outstanding B&B, and it's worth every penny and more. I would recommend it to anyone. I was nervous about my first B&B stay, but needn't have been. Richard and black Labrador Bertie greeted us when we arrived. The room was en suite, spotlessly clean and had modern conveniences including WiFi and a flatscreen TV. There was a large comfortable bed with good quality mattress and bedding, plus a luxurious bathroom with shower and a large freestanding bath. They'd thought of all sorts of details: fresh milk in the fridge, wooden coat hangers, body wash, liquid soap, chocolate, biscuits, coffee and a choice of teas. Breakfast was fantastic, with loads to choose from: a good quality full English, fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade jams, croissants, and my favourite, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast. Just a lovely place and lovely hosts. Well done, guys.

The grounds were breathtaking, and the area is quite central for reaching coasts on either side. Our hosts were lovely, welcoming and happy to suggest places to visit, and the hospitality was great. The buttery is gorgeous and very clean. It was a perfect honeymoon getaway, and we'd highly recommend it and return.

Nigel and Richard were incredibly helpful, especially when our car broke down. The rooms were spacious, the location was great and breakfast was awesome. We'd strongly recommend a stay.
