The Lamb at Angmering

The evening was relaxed, memorable, and the food was wonderful. The staff went above and beyond, from the manager and chef to the waiting team, and decorated the room beautifully. They were absolutely fantastic, a real credit to the Newbon family. The rooms were impeccable and breakfast was exquisite. I couldn’t recommend The Lamb more highly. We’re regulars at the lamb in Angmering, so we hired the venue for my daughter’s small, intimate wedding. There were just 40 guests. After a beautiful candlelight ceremony at Arundel Town Hall, we came to the lamb in Angmering for a candlelight supper.

The food was among the best we’ve had in a pub, with an excellent menu, and the service was first class. Nothing was too much trouble for the efficient staff, and we’d like to thank them all. We were a family party of 15 for our annual get-together at The Lamb at Angmering. We’d sent in a list of choices a few days beforehand. We’ll be back, and are more than happy to recommend it.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and handled allergens, especially gluten, very well. There were several options, gluten-free bread available, and they could make other adjustments, like jus for peppercorn sauce. I only ate at the restaurant and didn’t stay. The food was some of the best I’ve ever had. I’d highly recommend getting the starter: the breaded goats cheese was phenomenal, as pictured. The steak was delicious too, and I had good coffee afterwards.

Most diners seemed to be enjoying their meals, but I was cheesed off by the Welsh rarebit. It had an unpleasant grainy mustard mixed through it, leaving a stodgy, vinegary taste. It was badly over-grilled and the portion was tiny, just two small, thin pieces of bread. At £10.95, I felt punished for ordering it. Don’t choose that!
