The staff were the highlight of my stay at the Atlantic Tower Hotel in Liverpool. They were friendly, helpful and really accommodating with my wheelchair in the accessible room I booked. They even helped my friend set up a birthday cake, which made the visit feel special. The team also shared good recommendations and asked what we’d done or had planned for the day, which made things feel personal. It’s in a great spot near the waterfront, with attractions, transport, shops and restaurants easy to reach. The room was comfortable and everything worked. The bathroom was excellent and easy to use with my accessibility needs. The floor was very cold, so bring flip-flops. There was a little dust, probably because the windows can’t be opened. Other than that, I had a lovely stay and would recommend the hotel, especially for the accessibility and genuinely friendly staff. We chose it after a bad Airbnb experience.

We got a lovely view, and the location was good. The shower was good too, but the beds could have been more comfortable, especially for a privilege room. They had spring mattresses. The hotel’s exterior looked really run down when we arrived and badly in need of work, though inside it was standard. The receptionists were helpful and friendly, and we got to check in early for free because our room was ready. We stayed Thursday to Saturday. Thursday was peaceful, but Friday night was extremely loud. The walls are paper thin, and you can hear everything from both neighbouring rooms. Both sets of neighbours were noisy and didn’t seem to care who else was there, even at midnight. Something to keep in mind when booking 😬.

If all you need is somewhere to sleep and have breakfast, this place is fine. It’s ideally situated, but the hotel feels tired and needs updating. The room was basic, and the whole building was cold. On the plus side, it was clean, so credit to housekeeping, and breakfast was good. We had what could have been a great view of the Liverpool building and the mersey, but the glazing was so covered in condensation that we couldn’t see out. A group of schoolchildren stayed Friday night. If their teachers are reading, your pupils and you deserve praise. The children behaved well and were polite, even when the teaching staff weren’t watching.

I’m changing my earlier positive review because both stays have been unacceptably noisy, with doors slamming, TVs, music and guests shouting. On the first visit, staff moved me to a lovely quiet room. This time I was assured my room would be quiet, but it wasn’t. I’d even offered to pay for an upgrade, and was told that wouldn’t be necessary. I don’t know what that was about. The room was poor. A badly broken table sent my wine and tea over my nice clothes. The fire doors in the corridor slammed, and there were loud TVs and room doors. The noise across the whole 9th floor sounded like student halls. I had to ask for another room again, which guests shouldn’t have to do. The replacement had a nice view and was better, but still noisy. The old heater/AC didn’t work properly, and the room wasn’t made up as requested for the second night. If that’s normal for Atlantic Tower, I won’t be able to stay again. My first review said: I love the hotel’s mid-century modern architecture. It looks like an ocean liner, fab! The views of the Liver Building are beautiful, and it’s close to the city centre and docks. Kike and her colleagues at reception really cared about my stay and went out of their way to move me to a quiet room. The staff were exceptional, and the beds were clean and comfortable. I was definitely going to stay again.

We paid £43 for a room only deal, which was fantastic, and nearby parking was handy. The parking fee was £14 for 24 hours, a bit steep. £10 would have felt fairer. We skipped breakfast at £16 each, since there are plenty of nearby cafes serving breakfast, including greggs. The location is perfect and the hotel is still very high quality, though it’s starting to show its age.
