The bar had a great atmosphere, and the location was great. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and they even gave me a free bowl of Scouse. It was delicious and really kind of them. I'll definitely stay here again.

The location was ideal for getting around on foot, with the train station, bus stops and town centre all close by. Staff were friendly and let me leave my luggage when I arrived before check-in. I stayed in room 22. It was basic and a little run down, but clean, and the bed was really comfortable. The shower took a while to heat up, then stayed hot. The room was warm even with the window open, and the blinds were broken so I couldn't open them. There's a karaoke bar below the hotel, and it was extremely loud across the whole first floor from 3pm to 10pm. It didn't affect my sleep, but it's something to keep in mind if you like an afternoon nap or an early night. Noise from reception, including phones and people checking in, carried easily into the room and woke me on both mornings. A door between reception and the first-floor rooms would help. A full-length mirror would be handy as well. There's no lift, which could make access difficult for some. It was fine for me since I barely spent any time in the room. If you're coming to Liverpool, you shouldn't spend all your time in it anyway, it's the best city in the world.

This was overpriced for the standard of the rooms. The place felt grubby, neglected and very cheap looking. The staff were friendly and polite, the only positive, and I didn't raise the issues with them because they weren't to blame. Owners, please don't disrespect customers or they'll only stay once. Room 8 was incredibly small. We knew we'd booked a small double, but it felt more like a single room, like a prison cell, with a high window facing a wall. The heater didn't work, and the decor was very poor and looked like it hadn't been updated in a long time. A disappointing stay, and we couldn't wait to leave.

The location was excellent, with shops, bars, restaurants and the docks all close by. The rooms are basic, but perfectly fine for a couple of nights, and the original price was very reasonable. I arrived really late and had accidentally booked the wrong year. The receptionist was exceptionally kind and helpful, and the reception team saved the day.

I've never been in such a bad hotel. The rooms were absolutely disgusting. We checked in, then checked out within 10 minutes because the bedding was stained and the toilet was smelly and filthy. The receptionist was lovely, though. I can't recommend this place at all. The reviews must have been written by staff to keep the rooms filled!
