Dream Apartments Silkhouse Court

The worst place! Bins can go uncollected for weeks, and the lifts are broken for almost half the year. You can’t order anything online because your parcels will definitely be stolen. It’s normal to find a homeless person snoring in the lobby or to have someone suddenly open your flat door. For your physical and mental health, don’t even consider signing a contract in this building.

The room was clean, and the shower was better than I expected. We had a fridge, washing machine, microwave and all the dishes our family needed for the weekend. The staff were lovely and brought extra pillows, duvets and loo roll when we asked. It’s a great area for tourists, though it gets loud at night, so I’d bring earplugs. I was shocked by the £100 deposit and wish they’d mentioned it before booking. The staff said it would be refunded, and it was, just as they described. For the price, it was good, and I’d definitely stay again.

The location is good, but it’s not enough to make up for the problems. The lifts break down every year, and you can be left carrying groceries up the stairs for months. The rubbish overflows, and parcels routinely get stolen, so you can’t order anything online. Stay away! The apartments are owned by different companies, rented through qube residential and managed by xenia estates. If something goes wrong, everyone just shrugs. Xenia has mastered the art of saying they’re working on it and getting away with anything. Managers change frequently, so be prepared for someone to say, “Oh, I’ve just joined/started managing this area and have no idea why there’s been no progress”.

Avoid this place, it’s a scam. The parcels were stolen, homeless people slept in the building, the lifts were always broken, and management never did anything. Getting my deposit back was a nightmare. I had to go through the deposit protection scheme to make them release it because management was ignoring me. It was the worst management I’ve experienced in my life.
